What do "Awareness", "Consideration", "Conversion" mean on my post suggestions?

What this article covers: What the Funnel Stage labels on your post suggestions mean and how they map to your growth goals.

Written by Inge

Inside every post suggestion brief, you'll see a field called Funnel Stage with a value like Awareness, Interest, Consideration, or Conversion.

These labels describe where the post sits in the customer journey β€” and they map directly to the growth goal you selected when creating the campaign.

How Funnel Stage maps to growth goals

Awareness

Interest

Consideration

Engagement & Community Building

Conversion

Conversion & Lead Generating

So if you created a campaign with the Engagement & Community Building goal, your post suggestions will show Consideration as the Funnel Stage. They're the same thing β€” just described in two different ways.

πŸ’‘ These labels are being updated to match the current Clue Labs growth goal names. In the meantime, use the table above to translate between them.

What each stage means in practice

Awareness This post is designed for people who don't know you yet. The content is broad, discoverable, and optimised for reach. Execute it with a new audience in mind β€” someone encountering your brand for the first time should be able to understand immediately what you do and why it's relevant to them.

Interest This post is designed to convert new awareness into an engaged audience. The content goes deeper than Awareness β€” it shows your thinking, your expertise, and your point of view. It should give someone who's just discovered you a compelling reason to follow.

Consideration This post is designed for people already in your audience who you want to deepen a relationship with. The content builds trust, invites interaction, and creates the familiarity that makes people ready to act. Saves, comments, and shares are the signals this post type is optimised for.

Conversion This post is designed for a warm audience that's ready to take action. The content is specific, direct, and clear about what you want the reader to do next β€” visit a link, send a DM, make a purchase, book a call.

Why does this matter?

Knowing the Funnel Stage of a post tells you who it's for and how to execute it. A Consideration post needs a different tone, a different visual approach, and a different call to action than an Awareness post β€” even if they're on the same topic.

Read the Funnel Stage before you read anything else in the brief. It sets the context for every other field.
