What happens to my data if I cancel?

Cancelling your Clue Labs subscription doesn't immediately delete your data. Here's exactly what happens.


Your data after cancellation

You keep full access until the end of your billing period. When you cancel, your subscription ends at the close of your current billing cycle. You have full access to everything — your campaigns, your post suggestions, your Growth Tracker, your Clue Score — until that date.

Your data is retained for 30 days after your subscription ends. Once your billing period closes, your account enters a 30-day retention window. Your data is preserved in full during this period but the platform is no longer active. If you reactivate within 30 days, everything is exactly as you left it — campaigns, post history, performance data, Brand Settings, all of it.

After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted. If you don't reactivate within the 30-day window, your data is removed from Clue Labs' systems in line with our privacy policy. This cannot be undone.


What data is affected

Everything associated with your connected brand account is subject to this process:

  • Campaign history and post suggestions

  • Performance data and Growth Tracker history

  • Clue Score history

  • Brand Settings and brand profile

  • Connected Instagram account data

  • Top Fans data


Reactivating your account

To reactivate within the 30-day window, log back in to Clue Labs and your account and all associated data will be restored immediately on reactivation.

If you're outside the 30-day window and want to return to Clue Labs, you're welcome back — but you'll be starting fresh. Your previous data will no longer be available.


If you just want a break

If you're thinking about cancelling because you need a pause rather than a permanent exit, consider pausing your account instead. You won't be billed during the pause, your data stays intact, and you can pick up exactly where you left off when you're ready. Look for the Pause account option in the cancellation flow.


Common questions

Can I export my data before I cancel? Download your campaign post suggestions via the CSV export on the Campaign List before cancelling. This gives you a copy of your generated content to keep. For performance data, take screenshots of your Growth Tracker before your access ends.

What happens to my connected Instagram account? Cancelling Clue Labs does not affect your Instagram account in any way. Clue Labs only reads your data — it never modifies your account. Disconnecting from Clue Labs simply means Clue Labs no longer has access to your account data.

I'm within the 30-day window — will my data definitely still be there? Yes. Your data is fully retained for the entire 30-day period. Log back in and reactivate from your Customer Dashboard to restore access immediately.
