Wild Card has two modes:
Surprise me — SAM draws a random content idea based on your brand profile and performance data. No input needed.
My own idea — You type in a topic or theme and SAM generates content angles built around it for your brand.
How to Access Wild Card
Wild Card is accessible directly from your dashboard. You will see it in the centre panel with two options: Surprise meand My own idea.
You can also access it via the left-hand navigation.
Using Surprise Me
Click Surprise me on the dashboard or Wild Card page.
SAM will generate ideas — you will see "AI is thinking / Mixing in something unexpected..." while it loads.
Once complete, SAM will present 3 ideas picked for your brand, each with:
A title
A content format tag (Image, Video, or Text)
A description of the idea and why it works for your audience
Review the ideas and click Use This Idea on whichever one you want to move forward with.
If none of the ideas work for you, click Try Another at the bottom of the page. You have 5 re-rolls per day.
Using My Own Idea
Click My own idea on the dashboard or Wild Card page.
Type your topic or theme into the search field (e.g. "sustainability in fashion" or "morning routines") and press Enter.
SAM will generate ideas — typically 5 ideas picked for your brand based on your topic.
Each idea includes a title, format tag, and description.
Click Use This Idea on whichever one you want to move forward with.
You can clear your topic and try a different one at any time.
What Happens When You Click Use This Idea?
Clicking Use This Idea saves the idea as a post and opens a creative brief. This includes:
Post type (Video, Image, or Text)
Scheduled date and time
Status (To Do / In Progress / Done)
Post link field — add your social media post URL once it is live
Notes — add any working notes
Creative Brief including:
Funnel stage
Theme
Reasoning — SAM's explanation of why this idea works for your brand
You can update the status as you work through the post and add the live URL once it has been published.
Common Questions
How many re-rolls do I get per day? You have 5 re-rolls per day on Surprise me. My own idea does not have a re-roll limit — you can search as many topics as you like.
Will Wild Card ideas repeat? SAM pulls from your brand profile and performance data each time, so ideas are generated fresh. You may occasionally see similar themes if your brand profile is narrow — updating your Brand Settings can help broaden results.
Can I edit the creative brief after saving? Yes. You can update the status, add notes, and add your post link at any time after saving.
Where do my saved Wild Card posts go? Saved Wild Card posts appear in your Campaigns section.
What is the difference between Wild Card and a Campaign post? Campaign posts are part of a planned content strategy generated by Clue Labs. Wild Card is a one-off idea outside of your campaigns — designed to break your usual pattern and try something unexpected.
