Newsjacking generates content ideas for your brand based on trending news stories

How to Access Newsjacking

Every day, Clue Labs surfaces relevant stories from your industry and provides ready-to-use content angles so you can move quickly and post while a story is still fresh.

The goal is to help you show up in conversations that are already happening — reaching new audiences and signalling to the algorithm that your account is timely and relevant.

Newsjacking briefs are available via Newsjack Feed in the left-hand navigation.

From the dashboard you will also see a News Jack panel on the right side. If you have accepted a brief, your most recent one will show here. If not, click Browse News Feed to view available briefs.

Using the Newsjack Feed

  1. Click Newsjack Feed in the left-hand navigation.

  2. Browse the available briefs. Each brief includes a trending story and a content angle tailored to your brand.

  3. When you find a brief you want to act on, accept it.

  4. Your accepted brief will appear in the News Jack panel on your dashboard for easy reference.

When to Use Newsjacking

For best results, check your Newsjack Feed at the start of the week — Monday or Tuesday. Stories are fresh, competition is low, and you have time to create and post before the moment passes.

By Thursday, most trending stories have peaked and the opportunity to gain additional reach from them has largely closed.

If a major story breaks mid-week, act on it the same day or the day after.

Common Questions

How often does the Newsjack Feed refresh? The feed updates regularly with new trending stories relevant to your industry. Check it at the start of each week for the best opportunities.

What if none of the briefs feel right for my brand? Not every story will be a fit — that is expected. Only accept briefs where your brand can take a credible angle. Forcing a connection to an irrelevant story can do more harm than not posting at all.

My industry was set during onboarding — can I change it? Yes. Go to Brand Settings and update your industry at any time. This will update the news sources your Newsjack Feed pulls from.

Where do accepted Newsjacking briefs go? Accepted briefs are saved and visible in the News Jack panel on your dashboard. You can also find them in your Campaigns section.

Why is my News Jack panel showing "No accepted briefs yet"? You have not yet accepted a brief from the Newsjack Feed. Click Browse News Feed to view available briefs and accept one to get started.

Can I save a brief for later without acting on it immediately? Accept the brief to save it to your dashboard. You can then create the content in your own time — just be mindful that the story may lose momentum if you leave it too long.
